Stop and Smell the Roses
By: Kenia Morales
With so much to do and so little time most of us feel stress out. This can often
leave us irritated, tired, unmotivated etc. These symptoms are not good for
neither our mental nor physical health. Have you notice that in this day and age
people are dying younger and prone to more illnesses such as cancer. Maybe this
should be a wake up call for all but, don’t worry you still have time to stop
and smell the roses. Here are some simple tips that can help you relax and come
back to your daily routine feeling recharge:
Get out of your daily routine by getting out of the house. Go to new places; get
to know your city or others. It does not have to be expensive at all. Visit
historic places, museums, local parks, movies, flea markets, you can even go out
to eat delicious ice cream etc.
Feeling Irritated? then you might be overwhelmed. Slow Down, even if it means an
hour or a day. Do something you want to do like read a book, watch TV etc.
Feeling extremely worn-out? Then stop and take a nap whenever you need it. See
the difference in your energy level when you wake up in an hour or so.
Find a hobby you like, it can be anything you enjoy doing.
Take time to getaway from noise and spend sometime by yourself reflecting on
your life, desires etc.
Find time to socialize and have fun with friends and family. Organize meetings
or small parties once in a while.
Celebrate holiday’s and special days. Once again it does not have to expensive
but, feel the joy of celebrating special days by giving love ones little details
such as a greeting card etc.
Are you losing faith or need some inspiration? Then visit your local church,
read an inspirational book etc.
Join a club for example a playgroup for moms and kids or a group of crafters
etc.
Take time to take care of yourself overall!
