Feng Shui Colors

Colors can affect us on many levels. If can affect your mood, your energy and
your desires. Notice if you paint an entire room, changing it from plain white
to a beautiful shade of green. Do you notice that you feel different in that
room now? The room itself gives off a different feeling or ambience. It probably
feels more refreshing and energizing. You just experienced a Feng Shui color
enhancement.
Using colors as described by Feng Shui is an easy and practical way to change
the feeling of your living space. You don’t have to go as far as painting an
entire room to feel the change in your life. Maybe paint one accent wall a new
color. Or, use accent pieces or accessories to incorporate a color or colors
into your home.
Below, is a list of some common colors and what the color symbolizes in Feng
Shui.
Green is associated with the Family area of the bagua. It is the color of nature
and thus symbolizes new life and new beginnings. It is a very refreshing and
balancing color that is known to bring energy to an area.
Purple is associated with the Wealth area of the bagua. Purple is known as the
color of royalty and wealth.
Orange is a color that encourages communication and organization. It can be used
to promote concentration and focus.
Red is associated with the Fame/Reputation area of the bagua. This powerful
color is associated with energy, power and warmth. It is also the color of good
luck and confidence.
Pink is associated with the Marriage and Relationship area of the bagua. This
color is connected to romance, love, marriage and happiness
White is associated with the Children/Creativity area of the bagua. It
symbolizes cleanliness, purity, and new beginnings.
Black is associated with the Career area of the bagua. Black is a color that is
linked to power, money and authority. This color is practical to use in small
amounts in a room. Using too much black in a room though can leave a feeling of
despair or depression.
Blue is associated with the Knowledge area of the bagua. This color promotes a
feeling of relaxation, calmness and peacefulness.
Yellow is associated with the Health area of the bagua and it symbolizes
intelligence and focused attention.
Brown (earth tones) is associated with the Health area of the bagua and is a
color connected with nature and being outdoors. This color is known to promote
stability and a feeling of being grounded.
As you can see, colors in Feng Shui mean a variety of different things. The
colors can be used to promote or enhance an area of the Bagua in your home. They
can also be used to promote a desired feeling or mood. Feng Shui can help guide
